The role:

​

As Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing executive and commercial air charter flights on behalf of our clients, with a particular focus on our political campaign and government accounts.


You will use your expertise, discretion and judgment to select appropriate aircraft charter solutions, flight crews, catering, and other vendors while balancing customer expectations and budget. You will engage daily with campaign operations staff, applying your knowledge and experience to support them in all facets of candidate travel.


Your decisions will have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will be expected to deliver a superior service, while also delivering revenue and profitability in accordance with agreed financial targets. Primary duties will include the selecting and sourcing of aircraft and other vendors, maintaining awareness of client needs and trends within the industry, and managing all aspects of flight planning and logistics on behalf of our clients.


You will also participate in various field activities such as sales presentations, supplier relations and client visits, flight visits, and both domestic and international travel. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Commercial Jets.

Core responsibilities:

​

General responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Evaluate client needs, pricing, and other relevant market factors to select the most appropriate air charter solutions for each mission

  • Demonstrate understanding of both the US Part 135 and Part 121 charter markets

  • Analyze market conditions, competitor capabilities, rate tolerance, and other factors to
    produce timely and well-researched quote responses

  • Work with Sales and Trip Support teams to effectively manage client relationships and flight
    logistics

  • Achieve targets set for each financial year by making good business decisions and exceeding
    customer expectations

  • Maintain and grow the existing client base

  • Support client bookings in all aspects of day-to-day trading, including taking appropriate steps
    to anticipate potential concerns, and resolve unexpected occurrences

  • Ensure all enquiries and bookings are entered correctly into CRM; execute contracts in
    accordance with company standards

  • Ensure job flight files are updated and closed correctly

  • Full compliance with company procedures and protocols

  • Ensure that flights comply with US Part 135, Part 121 and international regulations applicable
    to the charter market

  • Conduct sales calls and client visits; identify new sales and cross-selling opportunities

  • Provide support for Out of Hours coverage

Job challenges:

  • Ability to balance competing priorities, identify possible courses of action, and make appropriate decisions under competitive market conditions

  • Consistent and proactive management of sales portfolio to increase the number of active clients and increase revenue

Skills:

​​

  • Understanding of Part 135 and Part 121 charter market and regulatory environment

  • Prior experience managing campaign or government travel is preferred

  • Ability to analyze data and incorporate it into a sound decision-making process

  • Strong negotiation and quantitative skills

  • Capable of making a high volume of decisions each day

  • Flexible, calm under pressure, and able to create/implement solutions to unique problems

  • Extensive knowledge of the company's products and services

  • Customer focused with good people skills

  • Previous sales or customer service experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems

  • Logical approach to problem solving

  • Highly motivated and goal oriented

  • Ability to promote the company's culture and brand at all times
