Role purpose:

​

As the Sales Director at our client's executive airline, you will play a crucial role in managing and developing the sales team to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and motivate a team of sales professionals while implementing effective sales strategies to maximise sales opportunities. To excel in this role, you must be self-driven, proactive, and possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

​Responsibilities:

​

  • Sales Team Management: Lead and oversee the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure their success. Set clear performance expectations, establish sales goals, and regularly evaluate individual and team performance.

  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns that align with the airline's business objectives. Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.

  • Sales Forecasting and Planning: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to develop accurate sales forecasts and plans. Identify areas for improvement and propose strategies to optimize sales performance and revenue generation.

  • Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with key clients, travel agencies, and corporate partners. Identify potential partnerships and negotiate contracts to expand the airline's customer base and market reach.

  • Sales Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze sales reports, KPIs, and other metrics to evaluate team and individual performance. Identify areas of improvement, provide constructive feedback, and implement appropriate training programs to enhance sales skills.

  • Sales Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging effective communication and knowledge sharing among team members. Coordinate with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.

  • Sales Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets. Monitor expenses, control costs, and report on budget performance to senior management.

  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging market opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments.

Who you are:

​​​

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the GA market.

  • Proven experience in a senior sales management role, preferably within the aviation or travel industry.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.

  • Proactive and self-driven approach with a strong sense of initiative.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of CRM software and sales performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of Avinode and LEON

  • Flexibility to travel as required.
