Client | Our client is a growing private aviation business with operations across the US, currently building out its structure as it scales. With a lean team and ambitious growth plans, they are now looking to bring HR in-house for the first time to support both operational stability and future expansion. |

The role:
A newly created HR Manager/Director position with a broad remit across people operations, talent acquisition and HR infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be setting up core HR processes while supporting a fast-moving operational team.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead end-to-end recruitment across operations and commercial roles
Build and implement core HR processes, policies and documentation from scratch
Manage onboarding, offboarding and employee lifecycle processes
Oversee rotas, holiday tracking and workforce planning
Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters
Ensure compliance with US employment law, particularly around contractor (1099) vs employee structures
Develop performance management frameworks and review processes
Support leadership (Howard and Steve) with organisational planning and hiring strategy
Introduce HR systems or tools to improve efficiency and reporting
Advise on compensation structures, commission models and contractor agreements
Help shape company culture during a key growth phase
About you:
Proven experience in a standalone or first HR hire role
Comfortable building HR functions from the ground up without heavy infrastructure
Strong understanding of US employment law, particularly 1099 contractor environments
Experience supporting operational or fast-paced businesses (aviation, logistics, sales-led environments useful)
Confident working directly with founders and senior leadership
Hands-on, pragmatic and able to balance structure with flexibility
Happy operating in a remote-first environment with future office presence in South Florida or New York
Whats on offer:
An attractive salary package with plenty internal growth opportunity.
Menska's thoughts:
This is one of those roles where the brief looks loose because the business is evolving. For the right person, that’s the appeal. You’re not stepping into a polished HR function, you’re building it. There’s real influence here, but it needs someone who’s comfortable with ambiguity and can quietly bring order without overengineering it.
