Charter Operations Manager - Los Angeles

In this dynamic role, you'll wear multiple hats, acting as a coach, mentor, and strategist for your team.

The role:


You'll delegate flights, overseeing every stage of the process from initial requests and quotes to contract negotiations, bookings, flight tracking, and closeouts. Your leadership skills will be essential for counselling, disciplining, and appraising team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Delegate flights to be worked on by the team.

  • Oversee and assist team members as required with each flight from start to finish; from building new requests, getting quotes, passing quotes, contract negotiations, booking trips, flight tracking and closeout.

  • Counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Motivate the team in the most positive way constantly promoting good team habits and unity.

  • Be available for calls and urgent email replies after hours to support the operations team.

  • Ensure the overall team meets its annual target by monitoring individual team targets and assisting to ensure success.

  • Ensure each booking passes company due diligence: AOC / DO85, Insurance, Argus / Wyvern Standards, and Pilot Hours.

  • Responsible for all booking payment terms.


Training:

  • Conduct Interviews.

  • Train and mentor new team members.

  • Build and maintain up-to-date training material and operations manual.

  • Ensure team members achieve defined Alpha goals and the team overall meets the standards set.


Scheduling:

  • Scheduling staff

  • Liaise with opposite operations team and maintain a 24/ 7 schedule.

  • Publish team schedule. Ensure that staff take breaks as per California regulations. Occasional backup coverage may be required from you on weekends and weeknights.

  • Scheduling weekend’s either Sat or Sun available on call on a company cell phone to advise the team.


Meetings:

  • Lead a one-hour weekly “Focus Meeting” with a review of all open inquiries.

  • Co-host weekly managers meeting.



Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Aviation industry experience.

  • Proficient computer skills required.

  • Customer care/customer service

  • Knowledge of geography, and corporate aircraft types and performance.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
